At Queer Outdoor Adventures, inclusivity and accessibility are at the core of our mission. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to connect with nature, build community, and engage in outdoor activities regardless of their financial situation. To achieve this, we have created a tier system supported by donations and sponsorships.
Our tier system is designed to ensure that our programs are accessible to individuals from various income levels:
Low-Income Support: Individuals making $30,000 a year or less will be partially covered by donations. This ensures that financial barriers do not prevent anyone from participating in our activities.
Middle-Income Support: Middle-income individuals will receive a small portion of funding to help reduce the cost of participation.
High-Income Support: High-income individuals will pay the base rate, helping to subsidize the costs for others.
The amount of support each participant receives will depend on the donations we collect and will be distributed accordingly. This tier system will be implemented next year, as we are currently in the process of raising funds and seeking sponsors.
Why We Created This System
We created this tier system to foster a more inclusive and equitable community. Many members of the LGBTQ+ community face financial challenges that can limit their access to outdoor activities and the benefits they offer. By implementing a tier system based on income, we aim to remove these barriers and create opportunities for everyone to participate, regardless of their financial situation.
